Loren A. Krause
Loren Krause, 84, of Great Valley, NY passed away suddenly Friday morning, October 13, 2023 at Mercy Hospital, Buffalo, NY.
Born May 4, 1939 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late Vernet and Christina Nitz Krause. He was married on March 3, 1961 in Great Valley, NY to the former Margaret Bowen, who survives.
He attended Ellicottville High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1957 – 1960, serving in the Mediterranean aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Loren had been employed with Krause Construction for over ten years and had previously worked in logging with his father-in-law. He had also driven bus for the Ellicottville School System.
He enjoyed woodworking, making toys, and the outdoors, especially spending time in his yard and cutting firewood.
Surviving besides his wife are: two daughters, Jodi (Russell) Belair, Augusta, ME, Jackie Winship, Salamanca, NY; three grandsons, Cody (Lindsy) Martin, Chicago, IL, Darin (Lisa) Winship, Jonathan Winship, both Salamanca, NY; three great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Ambuske, Maverick Winship, both of Salamanca, NY, Maya Martin, Chicago IL; a sister, Mary Frank, Little Valley, NY; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Loren “Bud” Krause Jr., a great-grandson, Oliver Winship, and two brothers, Howard Krause and Charles Krause.
Per Loren’s request, there will be no visitation.
Burial will be in Green Cemetery, Great Valley, NY at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
