Beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother

Margaret M. Johnson, 93, of Great Valley, New York, died Friday, April 3, 2015 at her home.

Born October 6, 1921 in Salamanca, New York, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Beulah Frable Mendell. She was married August 24,1961 to Elmer Johnson, who survives.

She was employed by the Red House Gift Shop, Puritan Restaurant, and various restaurants in the Ellicottville area.

Mrs. Johnson was a spitfire who enjoyed bingo, camping, traveling, hunting, and attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events.

Surviving besides her husband are: one daughter, Patty(Tim Jones) Flood, Randolph, NY; two sons, Chuck “Butch” (Janet Travis) Grinols, Great Valley, NY, George “Daniel” Grinols, Hornell, NY; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Betty Lindell and a brother, Edward Mendell.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Tuesday from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, when funeral services will be held with Rev. Stan Scoville officiating.

Burial will be in Green Cemetery, Great Valley, New York.
