Margaret M. Mcfarland
Mrs. Margaret M. Mcfarland, age 85, of 815 Hopkins Rd. Williamsville, New York, formerly of 47 Wilson Street, Salamanca, New York died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Elderwood at Heathwood Health Care Center, Williamsville, New York.
Born on January 3, 1923 in Dubois, Pa. she was the daughter of the late George and Kathryn Gargin Garrett. She was married on September 3, 1949 to Robert C. Mcfarland who predeceased her on March 4, 2000.
Mrs. Mcfarland was a graduate of Salamanca High School and Rochester General Hospital of Nursing. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at the former St. Francis Hospital prior to her retirement.
Mrs. Mcfarland was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Salamanca, New York, St. Patrick's Altar & Rosary Society, St. Patrick's PTA, Mr. & Mrs. Club, Interfaith Caregivers, and had volunteered for years at St. Patrick's Bingo and St. Patrick's Thousand Dollar Club.
Surviving are: 4 daughters, Mary (John) Liccini, Avon, New York, Ann M. (Ed) Renica, Henrietta, New York, Catherine C. (Jack) Thielman, Lancaster, New York, Jeanne (Michael) O'Donnell, Orchard Park, New York; 4 sons, Joseph C. (Linda) , Lancaster, New York, Robert J. (Karen) , Salamanca, New York, Christopher P. (Carol) , Reno, Nevada, Daniel (Peggy) , West Seneca, New York; 15 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, George Garrett,Somerset, NH, John Garrett, James Garett, Robert (Donna) Garrett, all of Sun City, Arizona; 1 sister, Kathryn (Keith) Robbins, Wellsburg, New York; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call mat the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Tuesday evening from 7 - 9 P.M. and Wednesday from 4 -8 P.M.
A prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday morning at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Peace (St. Patrick's Church) at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Piotr Zaczynski as celebrant.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
