Margaret Reding
Margaret I. Reding, age 91, formerly of Jamestown Road, East Randolph, New York died Friday morning, June 4, 2010 at Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York.
Born on November 13, 1918 in Salamanca, New York she was the daughter of the late James and Maude Wank Donahue. She was married to Byron R. Ashdown who predeceased her in 1959. She later married Peter Reding who predeceased her in 1988.
Mrs. Reding retired as the Postal Clerk at the East Randolph Post Office. Previously, she had worked at the cafeteria at the Randolph Central School. Also, she was the former Town Clerk at Red House, New York for many years.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Randolph American Legion Post #0181, Eastern Star Mizpah Chapter #162.
Surviving are: 2 daughters, Lynn Goodman, Steamburg, New York, Sandra (Robert) Lyaski, Rochester, New York; 1 son, Byron J. (Susan ) Ashdown, East Randolph, New York; 1 step-son, Peter (Vicki) Reding of Randolph; 3 step-daughters, Nancy (Fred) Calev, Rochester, Sue (Kevin) Franklin, Salamanca, Catherine Gamble, Kentucky; 9 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one sister, Maretta Kreamer; and one brother, Fred Donahue.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be held in the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York at a time to be announced.
Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
