Marge Farmer
Marge Farmer, age 61, of 56 Orchard Street, Salamanca, NY, died April 20, 2010, at Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, NY.
Born on July 20, 1948 in Salamanca, New York she was the daughter of the late Arnold & Alvina Cook Cooper. She was married to Mr. Carlton “Dave” Farmer Sr. who survives.
Mrs. Farmer was the former Executive Director of the Indian Center on Grant Street in Buffalo, New York. Also she was a former Tribal Councilor, Surrogate Judge and Peacemaker.
She was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and the Heron Clan.
Surviving besides her husband are: 3 sons, Michael Bevan, Christopher Bevan, Carlton Farmer Jr.; 5 grandchildren, Zachary Bevan, Melanie Bevan, Cole Farmer, Camden Farmer, Carlton Farmer III; 2 sisters, Eldena Halftown, Loretta Jones; a brother, John Cooper; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter Leslee Farmer, 3 sisters, Luann Cook, Alice Cooper, Corrine LeRoy, and a brother, Rodney Cooper.
Friends may call at the family home (56 Orchard Street, Salamanca, NY) all day Thursday with a funeral service in the home on Friday at 1 p.m.
Burial will be in Hillside Haven Cemetery, Steamburg, NY.
