Marian Holt

Mrs. Marian Holt, age 88, of Ayden, N.C., formerly of Salamanca, NY, died Tuesday morning, October 18, 2011 at the Universal Health System Hospice Center in Greenville, N.C.

Born on June 16, 1923 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank & Anna McFarland Edmund. She was married in Harrisburg, PA to Mr. Wiley Holt, who predeceased her on November 17, 2006.

Mrs. Holt was a member of the former St. Patrick's Church in Salamanca, NY. She loved to read and travel.

Surviving are: 2 daughters, Ann Strang, Bolivar, NY, and Marsha (Edward) Glinsky, Ayden, NC; 9 grandchildren, Angela (Brian) Hicks, Bolivar, NY, Shannon (Tim) Oakley, Ayden, NC, Edward (Virginia) Glinsky, Hayes, VA, David Strang, Salamanca, NY, John (Angela) Glinsky, Jacksonville, NC, James Glinsky, Gloucester, VA, Scott Strang, Wilmington, NC, Brian (Rebecca) Strang, Salamanca, NY, Matthew Strang, Logan, UT; 21 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, David B. Holt, on June 7, 1996 and a great grandson, Timothy Oakley, on August 7, 2006.

Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Friday from 11 AM to 1 PM at which time funeral services will be held with Rev. Patrick Melfi, Pastor of Our Lady of Peace Parish, officiating.

Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
