Marie A. Vail
Marie A. Vail, 88, of Salamanca, New York died Saturday afternoon, October 10, 2015 at Buffalo General Hospital.
Born May 10, 1927 in Salamanca, New York, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Anna Zielinski Biscup. She was married on September 16, 1947 to Mr. William Vail, who predeceased her in 1971.
She was employed as an inspector at Salco in Salamanca, retiring in 1988. Previously, she had been employed at Fancher Furniture, the Election Board of Salamanca Township, and volunteered at the Food Pantry.
Mrs. Vail was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens #5296, the Women of the Moose Lodge #96, and the Holy Cross Athletic Club.
Surviving are: three sons, John Vail, Allegany, NY, Kevin (Cathy) Vail, Venice, FL, Regis Vail, Salamanca, NY; a daughter, Kathleen (Paul) Punsalang, Knoxville, TN; 11 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine Courteau, Salamanca, NY, Alice Frank, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Michelle “Mikki” Ellis on December 12, 1999, a brother, Leonard Biscup, and a sister, Dorothy Rorick.
A Memorial Mass will be held in Our Lady of Peace Parish at a time to be announced.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Diabetes Foundation.
