Marie Griehm

Marie Griehm, 94, formerly of Frank Street, Salamanca, New York, died Thursday, December 29, 2016 at The Absolut of Salamanca with her daughter by her side.

Born November 22, 1922 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lucian and Josephine Zilinski Polasik. She was married on June 15, 1946 in Holy Cross Church to Henry Griehm, who predeceased her on June 29, 2011.

She had been employed with the Salamanca Central School District for over twenty years prior to her retirement.

Mrs. Griehm was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish.

Surviving are: a daughter, Tina (Jim) Borowiak, Great Valley, NY; two grandchildren, Amy Borowiak and Jay Borowiak, both of Great Valley, NY; a brother, Carl Polasik, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Ann Sipko, Lucille Budzinski and three brothers, Leo Polasik, Raymond Polasik, and Paul Polasik.

A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace Parish on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11 a.m.

Funeral services are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
