Marie L. Hodara
Marie L. “Mimi” Hodara, 64, of Salamanca, NY died Saturday morning, December 31, 2022 at home.
Born July 11, 1958 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Kathlene Bean Dry. She was married July 3, 1994 in Salamanca, NY to Anthony W. Hodara, who survives.
She was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1977 and attended the Olean Business Institute.
Marie had been employed as a medical secretary with Dr. Patel’s office in Salamanca, NY as Dr. Won Lee’s secretary until his retirement.
Marie was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially at cookouts. She also enjoyed the outdoors, camping, gardening, and her flowers. She was an avid reader.
Surviving besides her husband are: three sons, Joshua (Danielle) Newark, Cassadaga, NY, Jude (Anna) Newark, Salamanca, NY, Anthony (Laura) Hodara Jr. Kill Buck, NY; four granddaughters, Ashlyn Newark, McKenzie Newark, both of Salamanca, NY, Grace Hodara, Sophia Hodara, both of Kill Buck, NY; five grandsons, Harrison Newark, Alexander Newark, both of Great Valley, NY, Arlen Newark, Archer Newark, Deegan Newark, all of Salamanca, NY; a sister, Denise (Brandon) Hurley, Elmira, NY; three brothers, Thomas (Lenora) Dry, Salamanca, NY, Sean (Tammy) Dry, Kill Buck, NY, Todd Dry, Orchard Park, NY; brother and sister-in-law, Bruce (Kris) Hodara, Humphrey, NY; a very very special aunt, Terry Bean Stone, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.
As per Marie’s request, there will be no visitation.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace Parish, 274 Broad Street, Salamanca, NY on Saturday, January 28, 2022 at 11am with Rev. Moses Ikuelogbon officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 590, Buffalo, NY 14240, of Cassadaga Fire Dept., P.O. Box 226, Cassadaga, NY 14718.
