Mary Waite

Mary J. Waite, age 73, of Bucktooth Run, Little Valley, New York died late Tuesday evening, March 15, 2011, at her son, David Waite Sr.'s home, Depot Street, Killbuck, NY, following a long illness.

Born on December 17, 1937 in Salamanca, New York she was the daughter of the William and Zelda McStraw Schreckengost. She was married on July 6, 1958 in Salamanca, New York to Mr. Richard Waite who predeceased her in 1990.

Mrs. Waite had been employed with the former Seneca Crafts for over 20 years and had worked at Holiday Valley Resort retiring in 1996.

She was a member of the Salamanca Church of Christ in Salamanca, New York. She enjoyed needle point and cross stitch.

Surviving are: 3 sons, Russell Waite, Salamanca, New York, David (Cindy) Waite Sr., Killbuck, New York, Daniel (Bobbie) Waite, Bucktooth Run, Little Valley, New York; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Laura Rodgers, Steamburg, New York; a brother, William (Carol) Schreckengost, Salamanca, New York; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Ramona Waite, a son, Richard Earl Waite, a sister, Edna Sage, and a brother, Richard Schreckengost.

Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Friday evening from 6-8 P.M.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 P.M.

Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Home Care & Hospice, 1225 West State Street, Olean, New York 14760 or the American Cancer Society.
