Matthew P. Kubic

Matthew P. Kubic, 65, of Salamanca, NY died Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Buffalo General Hospital following a short illness.

Born February 11, 1957 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late Philip S. and Virginia J. Seaward Kubic.

He was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1975. He attended Upper Iowa University, where he played baseball and also attended Brockport State College.

Matthew had been employed in the maintenance department of the Seneca Gaming Authority, Salamanca, NY for over 20 years, retiring in 2020.

He enjoyed listening to music, and was an avid NY Yankees and Cleveland Browns fan. In his younger years, he played softball in various leagues.

Surviving are: two sisters, Laurie (Cory) James, Salamanca, NY, Bonna Schwab, Jamestown, NY; a brother, Joseph (Denise) Kubic, Allegany, NY; three nieces, Julia (Dan) Craumer, Jamestown, NY, Molly (James) Simmons, VA, Cali James, Amherst, NY; six nephews, David (Shannon) Schwab, Finley Lake, NY, Wesley (Sue) Schwab, Crestview, FL, Jonathan (Leann) Schwab, Jamestown, NY, Scott (Terri) Kubic, Raleigh, NC, Matthew J. (Amanda) Kubic, Rushford, NY, Cody (Leslie) James, Salamanca, NY.

He was predeceased by a nephew, Kristopher Schwab.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 4 – 6 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held with Rev. Michael Lonto officiating.

Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.
