Merle S. Watt Jr.
Merle S. “Beeb” Watt Jr., 55, of Jimersontown, NY died Tuesday evening, June 20, 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, PA following a long illness.
Born January 2, 1968 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of Lucy Ray of Jimersontown and the late Merle S. Watt Sr.
He was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and the Bear Clan.
He was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1986 and attended Jamestown Community College in Jamestown, NY and Jefferson Community College in Watertown, NY.
Beeb had owned and operated Wildwood Enterprises for over 15 years and was a founding partner of M&M Enterprises.
He enjoyed developing, the outdoors, golfing, and boating. He also enjoyed racecars and was a formula one fan.
Surviving besides his mother are: a son, Merle S. Watt III, Salamanca, NY; two sisters, Melinda (Kevin) Palmer, Salamanca, NY, Sydney (Jayk Clark) Watt, Randolph, NY; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Arianna M. Watt, a brother, Joel Whittaker, and his paternal grandmother, Nettie Watt.
Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 – 11 a.m., at which time funeral services will be held with Winfield Bowen officiating.
Burial will be in Hillside Haven Cemetery, Steamburg, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, 200 Lothrop Street, Pittsburg, PA 15213.
