Michael J. Slater II

Michael J. Slater II, 40, of Hinsdale, NY died unexpectedly Monday, April 22, 2024 at home.

Born June 15, 1983 in Olean, NY, he was the son of Michael and Terry Maynard Slater of Great Valley, NY.

He was a graduate of Ellicottville High School, Class of 2001, and earned his Associate’s Degree from Jamestown Community College, Olean, NY.

Mike had been employed with Holiday Valley as a snow maker for seven years, and previously worked in the oil fields in Ohio and other various jobs to support his family.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking them to their activities and sporting events, as well as traveling and taking them to baseball games. Michael also enjoyed playing flag football and softball and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Milwaukee Brewer fan.

Surviving besides his parents are: his longtime companion, Kassandra Goodman, Hinsdale, NY; a daughter, Isabella Slater, Hinsdale, NY; two sons, Sebastian Slater, Nikolai Slater, both of Hinsdale, NY; a sister, Melissa (William Cooper) Slater, Salamanca, NY; two nieces, Tessa Higgins, Katerina Cooper, both of Salamanca, NY; a nephew, Brendon Higgins, Salamanca, NY; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Raymond and Mildred Maynard, paternal grandparents, Joseph and Loretta Slater, two aunts Susan Case and Marcia Slater, and an uncle, Russell Coy.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 2 -4pm, at which time funeral services will be held (4pm) with Deacon Michael Anderson of Our Lady of Peace Parish officiating.
