Nicholas Hutcheson

Nicolas Hutcheson (Nick), 69 Nicholas Homer Hutcheson, of Beaverton, Oregon, formerly of Salamanca, New York, died on Saturday, May 26, 2018, in Beaverton, Oregon. He was born on April 28, 1949, in Salamanca, New York, and was the son of the late Homer A. Hutcheson and Betty J. (Schermerhorn) Hutcheson. He is survived by his loving daughter, Lindsay Hutcheson (Ed) of Beaverton, Oregon, the mother of his daughter, Victoria (Vicky) Rand and three loving sisters, Janet Rhodes, (John) of Hanover, IN, Shirley Green (Bill) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Louise Fitzgerald (Steve), of Dallas, TX.

He attended Kemper Military School, Boonville, Missouri, and attended Hobart College, Geneva, NY. He was a Viet Nam veteran of the United States Navy, serving as a combat systems technical equipment operator on the USS Nimitz. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Viet Nam Campaign Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the Navy Expeditionary Medal. He was a proud member of the American Legion HUghes-Skiba Post #535 in Salamanca. He enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Lindsay, and was an avid golfer.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Salamanca, New York 14779. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, and to the American Legion Hughes Skiba Post #535.
