Noel Poling
Noel Poling, 89, of Salamanca, NY died Monday evening, October 7, 2024 at the Salamanca Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following a short illness.
Born August 20, 1935 in Philippi, WV, he was the son of the late Noel Sr. and Georgia Andrick Poling. He was married on February 27, 1971 to the former Linda Wilson, who survives.
Noel had been employed as a machinist with Highland Plastics for over 10 years, retiring in 1997 and worked in the Green Thumb Program at the Route 86 rest stop in Allegany, NY.
He was a member of the Salamanca Church of Christ. He enjoyed, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving besides his wife are: four daughters, Debbie (Gary) Burner, WV, Kim (Joel) Winship, Kill Buck, NY, Robin Quattrone, WV, Kristin Brady, Salamanca, NY; four sons, Doug (Carol) Poling, Great Valley, NY, Mark (Cindy) Poling, Great Valley, NY, James (Nathalie) Poling, Salamanca, NY, Ben (Holly) Poling, OH; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Virgile (Sandy) Poling, Cyclone, PA; three sisters, Nancy (Larry) Pierce, Salamanca, NY, Sharon Johnson, Asheville, NC, Donna Stevens, Sierra Vista, AZ; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sons, Craig Poling and Mike Poling, and six sisters, Carol Schreckengost, Norma Jean Jones, Mary Burner, Theresa Wiedlich, Ruth Carder, and Dorothy Daughtery.
There will be no visitation.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Van Andel Institute for Dementia Research or the Dementia Society of America.
