Norma J. Crandall
Mrs. Norma J. Crandall, age 84, of Heritage Village, Gerry, New York, formerly of Lincoln Avenue, Salamanca, New York went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 17, 2014 at WCA Hospital, Jamestown, New York following a short illness.
Born on October 16, 1930 in Jamestown, New York she was the daughter of the late Walter and Florence Willets LeRoy. She was married on August 6, 1949 in Watts Flats, New York to Mr. Roger Crandall who survives.
Mrs. Crandall was employed as a Bookkeeper at the former First Trust Union Bank for 20 years prior to her retirement.
She was former member of the United Congregational Methodist Church and was currently attending the Gerry Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed doing needlepoint and puzzles. She also enjoyed following her grandchildren’s activities.
Surviving are: 4 sons, Rick (Cindy) Crandall, Great Valley, Gary (Donna) Crandall, Lucasville, Ohio, Bob (Karen) Crandall, Great Valley, New York, Bill (Judy) Crandall, Anderson Island, Washington; a daughter, Sherry (Jeff) Torge, Great Valley, New York; 13 grandchildren, John Crandall, Kate Althans, Ryanne John, Kim Nicholson, Tina Smith, Greg Crandall, Molly Crandall, Michael Crandall, Cassie Crandall, Matt Crandall, Andy Crandall, Teresa Cox and Jeff Butterfield; 8 great grandchildren; a brother, Roger (Dorthea) LeRoy, Blairsville, GA; a sister, Kathy Smith, Jamestown, New York; a sister-in-law, Lucille (Barckley) Potts, Jamestown, New York; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may attend a memorial visitation at the Heritage Village Chapel, Gerry, New York on Wednesday evening from 6:30 – 7 p.m. at which time a memorial service will be held with Chaplin Sam Shreffler officiating.
Friends may attend a memorial visitation at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 4-7 p.m.
A memorial service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dave McCarthy, pastor of the Gerry Free Methodist Church assisted by Chaplin Sam Shreffler, of Heritage Village Chapel and Rev. David Potts, a nephew of Norma.
Burial will be in Green Cemetery, Great Valley, New York at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Gerry Volunteer Fire Department, Gerry, New York 14740.
