Patricia M. O'Laughlin

Patricia O’Laughlin, 90, formerly of West Avenue, Salamanca, NY, died on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Olean General Hospital following a short illness.

Born November 8, 1932 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Rolla and Mary Redmond Clark.

She was a graduate of Mount Mercy Academy High School, Buffalo, NY, Class of 1950 and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from D’Youville College in 1954.

Patricia had been employed as a social worker with Erie and Cattaraugus County Social Services for over 28 years, retiring in 1987. She had also been a partner with her son John in the operation of the former O’Laughlin Cadillac Pontiac GMC.

She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, and it’s Altar and Rosary Society, AARP, Neumann Reading Circle, and Zonta Club.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, never missing family events, and traveling with her daughter Mary. Family was everything to her. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the highlight of her life.

Surviving are: a daughter, Mary Scott, Ellicottville, NY, a son, Lawrence “John” (Deb Hayden) O’Laughlin, Salamanca, NY; two granddaughters, Ashley (Kyle) Sullivan, Medford, OR, Shannon (Jesse Castro) Scott, Jackson, NJ; four grandsons, Nicholas (Melanie) Scott, Mead, CO Zachary (Olivia) Scott, Indian Land, SC, Kyle (Danielle DeLong) O’Laughlin, Allegany, NY, Kevin (Courtney) O’Laughlin, Canonsburg, PA; a great-granddaughter, Lena Jane O’Laughlin; four great-grandsons, Grayson Sullivan, Jack Sullivan, Charles Scott, Hudson Scott.

She was predeceased by a sister, Paula Wainwright.

There will be no visitation.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace Parish, 274 Broad Street, Salamanca, NY on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 10am with Rev. Patrick Melfi officiating.

Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
