Paul Edward Barlow

Mr. Paul Edward Barlow, age 93, of Ellicottville, NY completed his earthly journey on Tuesday morning, January 27, 2026, peacefully in his home that he loved, surrounded by his family.

Born January 20, 1933, in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Edward and Mabel Newman Barlow. He was married July 3, 1971, in Holy Family Parish, South Buffalo, NY to, as he said, “the love of his life,” the former Maureen Shanahan, who survives.

Paul was a graduate of Kensington High School, Class of 1951.

He was a Korean War veteran of the United States Army, serving stateside.

He was a carpenter by trade and was a member of the Carpenter’s Local 276 in Buffalo and had also been employed by independent contractors throughout Western NY.

He was a member of Holy Name of Mary RC Church, Ellicottville and the Ellicottville American Legion Post 659.

He enjoyed the outdoors and skiing, and was a former member of the Lederhosen Ski Club starting January of 1958. Paul was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, holding season tickets at both the old Rock Pile and the former Rich Stadium.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: a daughter, Kristina (William) Coolidge, Ellicottville, NY; a son, Jonathan (Lisa) Barlow, Humphrey, NY; seven step-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Lou Warren, Buffalo, NY; a sister-in-law, Linda (Eddie) Barlow, from Ontario, Canada; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

He was predeceased by a brother, Edward “Eddie” Barlow.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial mass will be held in Holy Name of Mary RC Church, 27 Jefferson Street, Ellicottville, NY on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11am with Rev. Charles Johnson as celebrant.

Full military honors will be conducted by members of the Ellicottville American Legion Post 659.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
