Paul Puvel
Mr. Paul Puvel, age 86, of River Street, Salamanca, New York, died Tuesday (July 3, 2007) morning at the Millard Filmore Hospital, Buffalo, NY.
Born on June 13, 1921 in Salamanca, he wast the son of the late Michael and Stella Piodlo Puvel. He was married on February 23, 1946 to the former Beulah Reed Puvel who predeceased him on March 22, 2001.
He was a veteran of the United States Army during WWII Serving as a Cook and Baker. He was awarded the American Theatre Medal, Good Conduct medal and the WWII Victory Medal.
Mr. Puvel was employed as a Welder at Dresser Manufacturing Inc. in Bradford, Pa prior to his retirement in 1983. He previously worked for the CCC prior to his retirement.
He was a member of the St. Patrick's Church where he served as the former head usher, the Holy Cross Athletic Club, AARP and American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535. Mr. Puvel was an amateur boxer. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, gardening, and fishing.
Surviving are: 1 daughter, Andera Langdon, River Street, Salamanca, New York; 1 son, Michael (Sherry) Puvel, Elmwood Avenue, Salamanca, New York; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Felix (Harriet) Puvel, Salamanca, New York and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by: 1 daughter, Jaris Lecceardone; 6 brothers:p Stanley Puvel, John Puvel, Henry Puvel, William Puvel, Joseph Puvel and Frank Puvel and 1 sister, Theresa Morrison.
