Paul Whitcomb Sr.

Mr. Paul Whitcomb Sr., age 65, of 29 Pine Street, Salamanca, New York died Tuesday evening, May 13, 2008 at his home.

Born on June 28, 1942 in Buffalo, New York he was the son of the late Maynard and Lucille George Whitcomb. He was married in Salamanca, New York on September 22, 1962 to the former Carolyn Stallard who survives.

Mr. Whitcomb had been employed at Highland Plastics, Sheble & Wood Woolen Mills, Ludwick Car Wash, and Allegany Hardwood, all of Salamanca, New York.

He was a member of the Seneca Nation of Indians, the Wolf Clan, Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296 and a former member of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535. He enjoyed bowling.

Surviving besides his wife are: 1 daughter, Luanne Whitcomb, Salamanca, New York; 4 sons, Paul (Dolores) Whitcomb, Salamanca, New York, Todd (Johnette) Whitcomb, New York, Darrin Whitcomb, Salamanca, New York, Chad Whitcomb, Salamanca, New York; 14 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; 2 sisters, Judith Rhodes, Killbuck, New York, Bernice (Tom) Slocum, Wildwood Ave. Salamanca, New York; several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held in the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Friday afternoon at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Wallace Mapes officiating.

The family suggests memorials to the Home Care & Hospice, 1225 West State Street, Olean, New York 14760 or the American Cancer Society.
