Peter F. Budzinski

Peter F. Budzinski, 84, of Salamanca, NY, died Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Bradford Regional Medical Center following a short illness.

Born February 6, 1942 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Theresa Meyers Budzinski. He was married October 12, 1969 at the former Holy Cross Church to the former Patricia Halterman, who predeceased him in 2024.

He was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1959.

Peter had been employed as a Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Deputy for over 35 years, retiring in 2003. Upon retirement and for the next 15 years, he served in the sheriff’s office transportation department.

He enjoyed spending time with his wife at their camp in the Town of Humphrey, travelling, football, and baseball. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and a fan of St. Bonaventure basketball.

Surviving are: a sister, Diane Ambuske, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace Parish, 274 Broad Street, Salamanca, NY on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. John Trela as celebrant.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.
