Rae L. Eddy

Mrs. Rae L. Eddy, 88, of Salamanca, NY, died Monday morning, November 3, 2025 at the Salamanca Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following a long illness.

Born December 1, 1936 in Red House, NY, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Gladys Titus John. She was married February 3, 1959 in Salamanca, NY to Mr. James R. Eddy, who predeceased her in 1980.

She was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and of the Heron Clan.

Mrs. Eddy attended Salamanca High School and BOCES adult education.

She had been employed as a seamstress for Seneca Gaming and Entertainment for over four years. Prior to that, she had also been employed with the Salamanca Public Library and the Seneca Nation Library.

Mrs. Eddy enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed the outdoors and playing Bingo.

Surviving are: a daughter, Robin (Rodney) Jackson, Salamanca, NY; two sons, Jody Eddy, Jimersontown, NY, Jay Eddy, Salamanca, NY; ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; three sisters, Holly Jimerson, Salamanca, NY, Vicky Jimerson, OH, Lois Lichy, Salamanca, NY; two brothers, Dan Jimerson, Salamanca, NY, Louis Jimerson Jr., Steamburg, NY; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two daughters, Rhonda Eddy Porter and Rosemary Zolner, two sisters, Marlene Kettle and Shirley Wheaton, and two brothers, Melvin John and Lloyd John.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 2 – 4 and 5 – 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with Deacon Michael Anderson officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Heights Cemetery, Jimersontown, NY.
