Raymond Bargy

Mr. Raymond F. Bargy, age 81, of Fair Oak Street, Salamanca, NY died Tuesday morning, September 5, 2017 at Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY following a long illness.

Born April 3, 1936 in Salamanca, NY he was the son of the late Harry & Gertrude Moffet Bargy. He was married on December 26, 1959 in Little Valley, NY to the former Naomi Gross who survives.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany.

Mr. Bargy was employed as a Senior Stock Clerk with Parkview Supermarket for over 45 years retiring in 2006.

He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, spending time with his family, especially his grandsons. He enjoyed traveling, going to different festivals as well as visiting casinos. He also enjoyed listening to country music.

Surviving besides his wife are: a daughter, Nan Bargy, Salamanca, NY; a son, William Bargy, Salamanca, NY; 2 grandsons, Noah Bargy, Onoville, NY, Tra Bargy, Randolph, NY; 1 sister, Maxine Terhune, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by 15 brothers and sisters.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at which time funeral services will be held with Myrna Young and Tim Ledsome officiating.

Full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535 and Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296.

Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.
