Richard Bean
Mr. Richard Bean, age 79, of , of South Barry Street, Olean, N Y died Monday morning, January 25, 2010 at his home.
Born on December 4, 1930 in Salamanca, N Y he was the son of the late Leon and Delores McAndrew Bean. He was married on June 26, 1954 in St. Patrick’s Church to the former Evelyn Woodruff who survives.
Mr. Bean was employed as a Spiker on the Erie Lackawanna Railroad for years prior to his retirement. Also, he had been employed at the former Jamestown Table, Fancher Furniture, Rathburn Molding, Friendship Diary, Fitzpatrick & Weller, Ellicottville, NY.
He was a former member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Salamanca, NY and attended St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Olean, NY
Surviving besides his wife are: 4 daughters, Mary Ann Bean, Olean, NY, Carol Monroe, Allegany, NY, Brenda Lee (Fred) Otto, Bradford, PA., Ann Marie Shoup, Allegany, NY; 3 sons, Richard (Rebecca) Bean II, Olean, NY, Rick (Amy) Bean, Duncansville, PA, John (Lorrie) Tingley, Colonial Heights, VA; 21 grandchildren ; 5 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Mary Bowen, Fillmore, NY, Roberta “Bobbie” Gorman , Binghamton, NY, Terry Bean Stone, Salamanca, NY, Nancy Armelli, Jamestown, NY; 2 brothers, Leo (Yvette) Bean, Rochester, New York, Gene Bean, Salamanca, New York; several nieces and nephews; special family friends, George Pancio and family.
He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Donald Bean, Robert Bean, 5 sisters, Loretta Slater, Ann Killock, Dot Costanzo, Kay Dry, and Alice Plano .
Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Thursday from 2:00-7:00 PM when funeral and commmittal services will be held with Deacon Michael Anderson, of Our Lady of Peace officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.
