Richard C. Wyatt

Richard C. Wyatt, age 63, of Central Avenue, Salamanca, New York , died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York.

Born May 14, 1950 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late Robert and Joanne Bedell Wyatt. He was married on December 9, 1972 to the former Joni Shongo who survives.

Mr. Wyatt was a graduate of Salamanca High School Class of 1968 and the Memphis Hardwood Lumber Association School, Memphis TN.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Rifle Marksmanship Badge (M 14 Rifle).

Mr. Wyatt was employed as a lumber inspector retiring from the Office of General Services for the State of New York. He had previously been employed at Fitzpatrick & Weller, Ellicottville, NY, Donvers, Killbuck NY and Matsons Lumber, Brookville, PA.

He was a member of the American Legion Hughes -Skiba Post #535, Veterans of Foreign War, John Ahrens Post # 5296 and the Holy Cross Athletic Club, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry and remodeling his home.

Surviving beside his wife are two sons Shawn (Dr. April) Wyatt, Greenville, NC, Lance (Marie) Wyatt, Jamestown, NY, one daughter, Angel (Chris Sanchirico) Wyatt, Olean, NY three grandchildren, Jade Wyatt, Andrew Wyatt, and Alex Wyatt, all of Greenville, NC one sister, Robyn (Tom Conner) Feliciano, Spring Hill, FL, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Wyatt.

There will be no visitation.

Friends may attend a funeral service on Saturday (January 25, 2014) at 11:00 AM in the United Congregational Methodist Church with Rev Ray Gilman, pastor officiating.

The O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY is in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.

Full Military Honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post# 535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John Ahrens Post# 5296.
