Richard R. Theis

Mr. Richard R. Theis, 64, of Liebler Hill Road, Little Valley died Friday April 29, 2016 at his home.

Born September 22, 1951 in Niagara Falls, New York, he was the son of Catherine Clay Theis of Niagara Falls and the late Richard Theis.

Mr. Theis was a veteran of the United States Army. He was awarded The National Defense Service Metal and was a sharp shooter with M-16.

He was employed at the Seneca Allegany Casino in Salamanca, New York.

Mr. Theis was a talented woodworker, artist, musician, was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. In his later years, he enjoyed bird watching and building bird houses and feeding stations.

Surviving besides his mother: are his loving partner Beth Jones, with whom he resided; two brothers, David (Jennifer) Theis, Angelica, NY, Robert Theis, Barstow, CA; one sister Kathryn (David) Kerrison, Niagara, NY; an aunt, Norma Shane, Olean, NY; cousin/brother, David Miller, Olean, NY; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Theis was preceded in death by his sister Donna McDonald and twin baby sisters whom were lost at birth.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial visitation will be held at the Red House Pavilion in Allegany State Park on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m., at which time a memorial service will be held. A gathering for family and friends will immediately follow.

The O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York is in charge of funeral arrangements.
