Rita D. Wolf

Mrs. Rita D. Wolf, 93, of Williamsville, NY died Monday, September 11, 2017 at home surrounded by her family.

Born February 15, 1924 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Heaney and Catherine Black Heaney. She was married on August 3, 1946 in Buffalo, NY to Heinz “Dutch” Wolf, who survives.

Mrs. Wolf worked with her husband as the book keeper and secretary for Heinz Wolf Plumbing & Heating in Buffalo, NY for over 30 years, retiring in 1988.

She was a member of Holy Name of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Ellicottville and St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Cheektowaga. She was a member of the National Ski Patrol for over 50 years working at Holiday Valley Resort in Ellicottville and the former Glenwood Acres. She was also a member of the Williamsville Garden Club, the School 80 PTA, the Lederhosen Ski Club in Buffalo, and was an American Red Cross Instructor.

She skied and traveled extensively throughout the United States with her husband, Heinz. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are: two daughters, Patricia Wolf (Kohler), Ellicottville, NY, Kathy (Charles) Vasilius, Lakewood, CO; four granddaughters, Kate (Darin) Kohler-Ellis, Golden, CO, Laura (Dan Minner) Kohler, Ellicottville, NY, Alexandra (Dan) Pitnell, Rochester, NY, Stephanie Vasilius, Denver, CO.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas Heaney and John Heaney.

Friends may be received at the Holy Name of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 22 Jefferson Street, Ellicottville, NY on Thursday from 9 – 10 a.m., at which time a memorial mass will be held with Father David Richards, pastor of Our Lady of Pompeii RC Church, Lancaster, NY, officiating.

Local funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Ellicottville Memorial Library or Roswell Park Memorial Cancer Institute.
