Rosemary J. Goodrich

Rosemary Joan Puvel Goodrich, 92, of St. Augustine, FL died Tuesday, August 3, 2021 follow-ing a long illness.

Born October 22, 1928, in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Helen Meyers Puvel. She was married in 1950 to James B. Goodrich, who predeceased her in March 1989.

Rosemary had been employed with the former Shelbe & Wood Woolen Mill, A&P Market, Parkview Supermarket, and McCrory’s. She was a member of the former St. Patrick’s Church.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, and crafting. Bowling and card playing were among her favorite activities. She traveled extensively across the US in her later years. After moving to St. Augustine, FL in 2005, she delighted in spending time with her family, especially her grand-children, and volunteered at the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Museum.

Surviving are: two daughters, Kathy (Thomas) Nickler, St. Johns, FL, Carol (John) Torcello, Granada Hills, CA; four grandchildren, Patrick Nickler, Falls Church, VA, Erin Hammond, Sa-vannah, GA, David Nickler, St. Augustine, FL, Justin Torcello, Glendale, CA; and six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Rosemary was predeceased by a brother, James Puvel, and two sisters, Helen Puvel Woodard and Suzanne Puvel Dudley.

A memorial service will be held at the O’Rourke and O’Rourke Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 11am with Deacon Michael Anderson officiat-ing.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the Salamanca Public Library.
