Rosemary L. McKay

Rosemary Lorraine Schrader (Frank), 61, of Steamburg, NY died unexpectedly at her home Tuesday, January 30, 2024.

Born May 4, 1962 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late E. and Mary Finocchi Schrader.

Since age three, Rosemary studied piano with several music professionals and had many accomplishments in her years as a musician. She was a church pianist for a number of years at the current Koinonia Christian Church in Salamanca, NY. She also played as a keyboardist/bassist in numerous local bands and was a renowned member of the local musician family.

Through her music, she was able to bring people together and played at numerous benefits and celebrations for the ones she cared about. She had also written several articles and poems and had a knack for creative writing. Rosemary had been an avid animal lover and had shared her home with many kinds of animals throughout her life. She had spent some time as a veterinary assistant and used the skills she learned to help any animal in need. Rosemary was always a guiding light for lost people and she had a way of connecting with the lives of people she had touched.

Surviving are: three children, Julie C. Lombardi, Olean, NY, Christopher M. Frank, Salamanca, NY, Autumn M. White, Steamburg, NY; ten grandchildren, Dustin and Austin Wright, Joseph Lombardi, Logan McEntire, Ana, Christopher II, Hunter, and Harper Frank, Mariah and Jeremiah John; and many others she considered family.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Braelynn Frank.

There will be no visitation.

Per Rosemary’s wishes, there will be a celebration of her life which will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced. Until then, “crank it up and break the knob off!”.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
