Roy Arena
Roy Arena, age 59, of East Street, Salamanca, New York formerly of Bear Hollow Road Great Valley, New York died Friday (September 5, 2008) following a long illness.
Born September 26, 1948 in Salamanca, New York he was the son of the late Rosario "Roy" and Marian Bzdak Arena. Mr. Arena was married April 28, 1973 in St. Pacificus Roman Catholic Church Humphrey, New York to the former Marga Rinko who survives.
Mr. Arena was employed as a Maintenance Supervisor with Fitzpatrick & Weller, Ellicottville, New York for over twenty-one years. He owned and operated a gun shop in his home for over fifteen years and was a former Town Supervisor for the Town of Great Valley.
He was a member St. Pacificus Church and the National Rifle Association.
He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors; he also was a musician (drummer) who played with various groups throughout the area.
Surviving besides his wife are one daughter, Antonia "Toni" (T.Dale) Dineen, Salamanca, New York; one son Roy "Andy" (Kerri Nupp) Arena, Salamanca, New York; 2 granddaughters, Bailey and Piper Dineen, Salamanca, New York; one sister, Rose (Donald) Bolles, Great Valley, New York; one brother, Vinny Arena, Salamanca, New York; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday (September 9, 2008) in St. Pacificus Oratory, Humphrey, New York with Rev. Ronald Mierzwa pastor of Holy Name of Mary Church officiating.
A Scripture wake service will be held on Monday evening with Rev. Ronald Mierzwa officiating.
