Sandra Markham

Mrs. Sandra Markham, 77 of Hinsdale, NY formerly Great Valley, NY, died Monday, January 25, 2021 at Salamanca Rehabilitation & Nursing Center following a short illness.

Born December 28, 1943 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Marian Hinman Bachman. She was married in September of 1964 to David J. Markham, who predeceased her on November 19, 2015.

She graduated Salamanca High School, Class of 1962. She also attended business/secretarial school.

Mrs. Markham was employed as a bookkeeper with Bear Hollow Furniture in Great Valley, NY for over 15 years.

She enjoyed music, crafts, sewing, and she loved to travel, taking various trips with her family. She was an avid bowler along with her late husband and was a member of the Salamanca Women’s Bowling Association, bowling in many leagues throughout the years.

Surviving are: a son, Steven (Kim) Markham, Hiawatha, KS; two daughters, Stacy Nelligan, Olean, NY, Amy (David) Beeman, Hinsdale, NY; a sister, Patricia (Larry) Butler, Salamanca, NY; a brother, Paul (Janice) Bachman, Great Valley, NY; six grandchildren, Peyton Markham, Meghan Bakken, Melissa Hicks, all of Garnett, KS, Daniel Nelligan, Olean, NY, Sara Beeman, Matthew Beeman, both of Hinsdale, NY; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation will be held in the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Saturday, May 29, 2021 from 1 - 2 p.m., at which time memorial services will be held with Deacon Michael Anderson of Our Lady of Peace Parish officiating.
