Shawn M. Hughes

Shawn M. Hughes, 48, of Cattaraugus, NY died Tuesday afternoon, September 3, 2024 at Buffalo General Hospital following a short illness.

Born July 20, 1976 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of William and Theresa Krajenski Hughes of Cattaraugus, NY.

He was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1994.

Shawn had been employed as a sous chef with JD Brew Pub in Springville for over seven years.

His family was the center of his attention. He enjoyed watching WWE wrestling and video gaming. He also enjoyed watching Thunder Cats, He-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and followed the Buffalo Bills.

Surviving besides his parents are: two sons, Brandon Hughes, Aiden Hughes, both of Cattaraugus, NY; a sister, Tracy (Michael) Rolfe, Cattaraugus, NY; two brothers, Patrick (Sue Harrison) Hughes, Salamanca, NY, John Hughes, Cattaraugus, NY; three nieces, Colleen (Ethan) Green, Cattaraugus, NY, Brittany (Joe Vullo) Rolfe, Salamanca, NY, Tiffany (Nick Bausum) Rolfe, Cattaraugus, NY; three great-nephews; two great-nieces; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 7 – 9pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s RC Church, 36 Washinton Street, Cattaraugus, NY 14719 on Saturday at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made for Shawn’s funeral expenses in care of Tracy Rolfe, 8 Lincoln Street, Cattaraugus, NY 14719.
