Shirley A. Harrington

Shirley A. Harrington, 87, of Great Valley, NY died Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Olean General Hospital following a long illness.

Born October 22, 1933 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lemuel and Althea Chamberlain Hook. She was married on December 30, 1950 to John Harrington, who predeceased her on December 21, 2014.

She attended Salamanca Central School.

Shirley loved spending time with her family, especially her grand- and great-grandchildren and enjoyed sewing and cooking.

Surviving are: a daughter, Lynda (Don) Button; two sons, Michael (Sue) Harrington, Jack (Pam) Harrington, all of Great Valley, NY; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul (Janet) Hook, Thomas (Norma) Hook, both of Sawmill Run; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Donna Ferrara and Elaine E. Spry.

There will be no visitation.

Funeral arrangements are under the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.

Burial will be in Green Cemetery, Great Valley, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Great Valley Fire Company.
