Stephen J. Muzi
Stephen J. Muzi Sr., 94, of Salamanca, NY and Diamond Bar, CA, died Monday, June 20, 2022 at home.
He was the son of the late Antonio and Lena Muzi.
He attended Salamanca High School.
Stephen had been employed as a Signalman with the Erie Lackawanna Railroad/Conrail Railroad. He held the position of General Chairman of the Brotherhood of General Signalman and served his community as Alderman.
Steve had a great talent for building things, taking things apart and figuring out problems. He possessed a strong work ethic and enjoyed long walks, going to McDonalds and watching Fox News and old Westerns. As a decorated World War II serviceman, he participated in Veterans Day activities and celebrations. He loved his friends and neighbors in Diamond Bar, CA. He was a member of St. Lorenzo Ruiz Church in Walnut, CA and Our Lady of Peace Church in Salamanca, NY. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Stephen is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ann Rakus Muzi; three sons and their wives, Anthony and Jeanne of Lawrenceville, NJ, Andrew and Marisela of Laguna Niguel, CA and Stephen and Bonnie of Tustin, CA; six grandchildren, Benjamin, Christopher, Andrew, Stephen, Joshua and Katherine.
Stephen was predeceased by his parents, brother, Carl and sisters, Frances and Louise.
Memorial visitation will be held at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., at which time a memorial service will be held with Deacon Michael Anderson officiating.
Committal services and full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post 535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post 5296 at Calvary Cemetery following the service.
