Stewart J. "Dotsie" Redeye III
Stewart J. “Dotsie” Redeye III, 53, of Salamanca, NY died Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Buffalo General Hospital following a long illness.
Born February 16, 1964 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late James and Judith Cooper Redeye. He was married on July 10, 1994 to the former Dawn White, who survives.
Dotsie was formerly employed as a Conservation Officer for the Seneca Nation of Indians and was a self-employed logger.
He was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians, the Turtle Clan and enjoyed woodworking.
Surviving besides his wife are: five daughters, Anne (Josh Logan) Dowdy, Dani Redeye, both of Salamanca, NY, Bailey Redeye, Tonawanda, NY, Judi Redeye, Buffalo, NY, Emily Redeye, Salamanca, NY, Sarah Redeye, Chico, CA; eight grandchildren, Logan Dowdy, Vivien Logan, Evan Logan, Stewart J. Redeye IV, Sophie Pierce, Lori Pierce, LeRoy Pierce, Wyatt Finch, all of Salamanca, NY; two sisters, Marjorie (John) Newark, Annmarie Redeye, both of Salamanca, NY.
He was predeceased by a brother, James “Woogie” Redeye, and a sister, Lori Redeye.
Honoring Dotsie’s wishes, there will be no visitation.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 3:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Teepee Room, 44 Seneca St, Salamanca, NY.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River St, Salamanca, NY.
