Stuart D. Denning

Mr. Stuart D. “Stu” Denning, 71, of Ellicott Street, Salamanca, NY passed away Sunday morning, September 24, 2017 at Olean General Hospital following a long illness.

Born August 13, 1946 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late Donald and Isabelle LuBold Adams. He was married on September 24, 1994 to the former Joanne Sanders Hemenway, who survives.

He attended Salamanca High School and joined the United States Navy, serving two tours in Vietnam.

He joined the Salamanca Police Department in 1975, where he worked for over 30 years, retiring as a Lieutenant.

He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post 5296

Surviving besides his wife are: two daughters, Brandie (Chad) Minier, Ft. Wayne, IN, Francine (Paul) Bussman, Allegany, NY; a granddaughter, Alexis Minier; a grandson, Parker Minier, both of Ft. Wayne, IN;

At Stuart’s request, there will be no visitation.

Burial will be in Maples Cemetery, Town of Mansfield, NY.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.

The family suggests memorials to the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post 5296, 61 Wildwood Avenue, Salamanca, NY, the Salamanca Police Club, or the donor’s choice.
