Terry R. Meacham Sr.
Terry R. Meacham Sr., 74, of Kill Buck Road, Great Valley, New York died at home with his loving family by his side Friday morning, November 7, 2014, following a short illness.
Born July 19, 1940 in Cattaraugus, New York, he was the son of the late Russell Meacham and Nina (Levi) Waite Pond. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Florence Feichter.
He had been employed as a truck driver for Stroehmann Bakeries in Olean, New York for twenty-seven years, retiring in 2002.
He was a member of the Healing Reigns Fellowship and the Eldred Koinonia Church. He served as Commissioner for the Cattaraugus County Midget Football League for twenty years. He was a Union Stewart for the Teamsters, and was a former member of both the Salamanca Order of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535.
Also surviving: 4 daughters, Eileen (Chuck) Miller, Pittsburgh, PA, Crystal (Edward) Sponeybarger, Kill Buck, NY, Aletha (Ronald) Case, Ortonville, MI, Sherri (Karl) Rowland, Great Valley, NY; 2 sons, Terry Jr. (Elizabeth) Meacham, Madison, AL, Jarrod (Bridgette) Meacham, Murfreesboro, TN; an extended daughter, Lisa (Allen) Wissert McCormick, Kill Buck, NY; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Dixie Meacham Terhune, Salamanca, NY, twin sister Deanna, Judy Meacham Oakes, Salamanca, NY; an aunt, Sylvia Johnson, Jamestown, NY; several nieces and nephews; a numerous amount of children they took into their home.
Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Sunday, November 9, 2014 from 1 – 2 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held with Rev. Wallace Mapes, Healing Reigns Fellowship, officiating.
Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Hospice.
