Theodore Coustenis
Mr. Theodore "Ted" Coustenis Sr., age 85 , of Front Avenue, Salamanca, New York died Tuesday , July 19, 2011 at Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York following a short illness.
Born on June 3, 1926 in Salamanca, New York he was the son of the late Steve and Sophia Marini Coustenis. He was married on August 2, 1953 in the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation in Buffalo, New York to the former Virginia Dumas who survives.
Mr. Coustenis was the owner and operator of the former T & S Vending Machines and the former City Lunch. Previously, he had worked as a Switchman for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Jamestown, New York, the Holy Cross Athletic Club, he enjoyed playing cards, he played cards in the Monday night Group, and tinkering with cars.
Surviving are: 2 sons, Stephen (Joanne) Coustenis, Hinsdale, New York, Ted Coustenis, Salamanca, New York; a daughter, Chrisann (David) Baloga, Riverside, California; 2 grandchildren, Alexander (Kelly) Coustenis, Salamanca, New York, Nicole (Keith Sauve) Coustenis, Charlotte, North Carolina ; a step grandson, Kempton Little, Bath, New York ; a step granddaughter, Brittnay Baloga, Newport Beach, California; 2 great grandchildren, Alyssa Coustenis and Kruz Coustenis, both of Salamanca, New York.
At the request of Mr. Coustenis, there will be no visitation.
There will be funeral services in St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Wildwood Avenue, Salamanca, New York on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. with the Father George Zervos , pastor of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Jamestown, New York, officiating.
Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
