Thomas M Halstead

Mr. Tom M. Halstead, age 68, of Salamanca, NY, died Friday, September 9, 2011 at his home.

Born on July 18, 1943, in Salamanca, he was the son of the late Norval Jr. and Marie Whalen Halstead.

He was employed at the former Norton Sawmill in Great Valley, New York

He was a member of the Holy Cross Athletic Club and was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and camping

Surviving are two daughters, Kathy Shipman, Lindley, New York, Theresa (Tom) Giglio-Shaut, Hornell, New York, one son Thomas Halstead, Corning, New York, eight grandchildren, one great-grandson, two sisters, Kim (Bob) Vail, Salamanca, NY, and Carol Weglarski,Gowanda, New York, ; one brother, Jerry Halstead, Salamanca, New York; two nieces, and one nephew

There will be no visitation or funeral service

The O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, is in charge of funeral arrangements

Burial will be at the convenience of the family
