Victor Dry
Mr. Victor Dry, 85, of Central Avenue, Salamanca, NY died early Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY following a long illness.
Born March 4, 1932 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late John and Agnes Ambuske Dry. He was married on July 6,1957 in the former St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church to the former Fay Vail, who survives.
He was a graduate of Salamanca High School Class of 1951.
Mr. Dry was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Germany.
He had been employed as a Service & Parts Manager for the former Salamanca Motors.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing golf.
Mr. Dry was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish and the Holy Cross Athletic Club.
Surviving besides his wife are: two daughters, Mary Kay Rosenzweig, Rochester, NY and Ann (Andrew) Rose, Albany, NY; a son, Martin (Cara) Dry, Phoenix, AZ; a granddaughter, Martina Dry, Phoenix, AZ; five grandsons, Matthew Dry, Brandon Dry, both of Phoenix, AZ, Kyle Rosenzweig, Ethan Rosenzweig, Rochester, NY, Jason Rose, Albany, NY; three brothers, Theodore “Joby” (Mary Ann) Dry, David (Barbara) Dry, both of Salamanca, NY, Joseph Dry, Little Valley, NY; several nieces and nephews, including special nephews, Mike and Willy Onuffer.
He was predeceased by four brothers, Thomas Dry, Paul “Pope” Dry, Robert Dry, and Donald Dry, and a sister, Barbara Onuffer.
There will be no visitation.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
