Virginia Malanowski
Virginia Malanowski, 99, formerly of Frank Street, Salamanca, died Sunday, August 10, 2014 at The Pines, Machias, New York.
Born April 25, 1915 in Salamanca, New York, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Pauline Sokolowski Malak. She was married in Salamanca, New York in 1941 to the late Mr. Sylvester Malanowski who predeceased her on February 1, 2002.
She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and spending time with her family, which was very important to her.
Surviving are: 2 sons, James (Julie) Malanowski, Bradford, PA, and Thomas (Cecilia) Malanowski, Ellicottville, NY; 3 grandchildren, Ryan Malanowski, Alexandria, VA, Sara (Ian) O’Neil, Salamanca, NY, Capt. Sean (Nicolina) Malanowski, San Antonio, TX; 1 great-granddaughter, Ryiah Malanowski, San Anotonio, TX.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Charlene Steinbroner, and a great-granddaughter, Ayvah Malanowski.
There will be no visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Peace Parish on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Fr. David Tourville of St. Mary’s of the Angels Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
