Vivian Printup
Vivian Printup, age 84, of Salamanca, New York died Tuesday morning, April 9, 2013 at The Pines Health & Rehab of Olean, New York following a long illness.
Born on September 3, 1928 in Coldspring, New York she was the daughter of the late Lindsey & Lorenza Logan Dowdy. She was married on April 2, 1960 to Edward Printup Sr. who predeceased her in 1999.
She was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians, a member of the Turtle Clan and the Coldspring Longhouse. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed doing puzzles.
Surviving are: 2 daughters, Connie (Gordon) Jimerson, Steamburg, New York, Joanne (Charles) Spruce Sr., Salamanca, New York; 4 sons, Robert (Yvonne Brooks) Cooper, Salamanca, New York, Edward (Nancy) Printup, Jimersontown, New York, Craig (Michele) Printup, Jimersontown, New York, Harold (Theresa) Printup, Lafayette, New York; several grandchildren and great grandchildren a sister, Corrine Redeye, Steamburg, New York; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Wilson Cooper Jr., 3 brothers, Lehman "Dar" Dowdy, Lindsey Dowdy Jr., Herbert Dowdy Sr., 4 sisters, Matilda Dowdy, Lavina Dowdy, Mamie Jones, and Reva Jacobs.
Friends may call at the home of her son, Edward Printup, 3586 Hiller Road, Salamanca, New York starting on Wednesday afternoon and all day Thursday.
Funeral services will begin on Friday morning at 9 A.M. in the family home followed by services in the Coldspring Longhouse at 10 A.M.
Burial will be in Hillside Haven Cemetery, Steamburg, New York.
