Wayne "Jay" Vaughn

Mr. Wayne Jayson “Jay” Vaughn, age 38, of 1309 Washington Street, Olean, NY, formerly of Salamanca, NY, went to be with the Lord Saturday evening, July 31, 2010, at the Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, NY. With him as he took the Lord’s hand were: Shannon, Mom, Dad, Wally, Melody, Leslie, Miguel, Chad, Aunt Peggy, Uncle Bill, and other brother Darryl, and Cheryl.

Born on July 16, 1972 in Olean, NY, he was the son of Walter Vaughn Sr., of Olean, and the late Carol Jean Lovell Vaughn. He was married on January 10, 1998 to the former Shannon Monroe who survives.

He attended Olean Central Schools.

Mr. Vaughn had been employed in Ground Keeping Maintenance at Elkdale Country Club.

Surviving besides his wife and father are: 2 daughters, Karen Leeann Vaughn and Christi Jean Vaughn, both at home; three brothers, Walter (Shelly) Vaughn Jr., Salamanca, Philip (Adella) Vaughn, Pennsylvania, Bradley Vaughn, New York; one sister, Lucinda (Dale) Connelly, Olean, NY; several nieces and nephews, in-laws Wayne & Christie Vaughn, of Salamanca, New York whom he considered his mom and dad, brother and sister in laws Melody (Miguel) Dominguez, Great Valley, New York, Leslie (Chad) Van Druff, Salamanca, New York.

Friends may call on Thursday, August 5, from 10-11 a.m. at the House of Prayer, Highland Avenue, Salamanca, New York, at which time funeral services will be held with Pastor Don Acker officiating.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
