Wendy E. Boon

Wendy E. Boon, 70, of Salamanca, NY died suddenly Sunday, May 21, 2023 at her home.

Born August 9, 1952 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Jean Mighells Wass.

She was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1970 and had attended Jamestown Business College.

Wendy had been employed with Cloud and Company for over 10 years, retiring in 2017 and had previously been employed in the HR Departments of Bradford Manor, Bradford, PA, and the former Fancher Furniture Company, Salamanca, NY.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She also enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and loved going to the beach. In her younger days, she coached as well as participated in various softball leagues throughout the area. One of Wendy’s greatest pleasures was watching NFL Football, especially the Buffalo Bills.

Surviving are: a daughter, Becky Boon, Hilton, NY; a son, Darren (Alyssa Stahlman) Boon, Salamanca, NY; two sisters, Judy (Jack) Hill, Salamanca, NY, Margaret “Stretch” (Robert) Winney, Marshallville, OH; a brother, John (Dawn) Wass, Saugus, MA; a granddaughter, Astell Boon, Salamanca, NY; two grandsons, Darren Isaac Boon, and William Boon, both of Salamanca, NY; a great-grandson, Avery Boon, Salamanca, NY.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter Alexandrea Kindt, and a brother, Raymond Wass.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Thursday May 25, 2023 from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9pm.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 11am with Pastor Edwin Ramirez officiating.
