Wilbur John
Wilbur H. John, 75, of Steamburg, New York died Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at the Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing Facility, Greenhurst, New York.
Born June 5, 1940 in Salamanca, New York, he was the son of the late Floyd and Dorothy Jimerson John. He was married on September 29, 1985 to the former Charlene Bova, who survives.
He was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and the Deer Clan.
Wilbur had been employed by the US Corp of Engineers at the Kinzua Dam, Warren Pennsylvania.
Surviving besides his wife are: six sisters, Phyllis “Eileen” Bardeau, Steamburg, NY, Ruth John, Sinclairville, NY, Donna Crouse, Deanna John, both of Salamanca, NY, Karen Baum, Alum Bank, PA, Dorothy (Ed) Confer, Kill Buck, NY; a brother, Marty John, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Lionel John.
Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York Thursday from 4 – 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with Priest Michael Komula, of the New Apostolic Church, Randolph, NY officiating.
Burial will be in Hillside Haven Cemetery, Steamburg, New York.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the SPCA, 2944 NY-16, Olean, NY 14760.
