William DeLong

Mr. William DeLong, age 82, formerly of Salamanca, NY died Monday, March 20, 2017 at the VA Pittsburgh Health Care, H J Heinz Campus, in Pittsburgh, PA.

Born on February 10, 1935 in Salamanca, NY he was the son of the late Hugh & Annie Marie Kirby DeLong. He was married to the former Judith Brooks DeLong who predeceased him on March 13, 2010.

Mr. DeLong was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in Korea from 1952-1954.

He was employed by the Salamanca Central School System as a bus driver retiring in 1989.

Mr. DeLong enjoyed the outdoors, taking walks on his land. He also enjoyed going to auctions throughout the area.

Surviving are: 4 daughters, Michele (Kevin) Henning, Cheyenne, Wyoming, Rhonda DeLong, Allegany, NY, Holly (William) Butler, Olean, NY, Pam DeLong ; a son, William DeLong, Pittsburgh, PA; 2 grandchildren, Laura and Kassidy Henning, Cheyene, Wyoming; a sister, Rose Lawson, Great Valley, NY.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Tammy DeLong, 3 brothers, Hugh DeLong, Bobby DeLong, and Jimmy DeLong.

Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday morning, March 30, 2017 at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY. from 10 - 11 a.m. at which time memorial services will be held with Deacon Michael Anderson, of Our Lady of Peace Parish, officiating.
