William Redeye
Mr. William J. Redeye, age 56, of Jamestown, New York died late Monday evening, July 5, 2010 at WCA Hospital, Jamestown, New York following a courageous battle with colon cancer..
Born on August 23, 1953 in Salamanca, New York he was the son of the late William and Lenora Lee Redeye.
Mr. Redeye attended Salamanca High School Class of 1971.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving at Laughlin Air Force Base in Texas.
Mr. Redeye was employed with the Seneca Nation of Indians in various departments. He had also worked at Allegany State Park.
He was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and the Hawk Clan. He loved the outdoors and fishing and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are: his companion of 30 years, Verna John, Jamestown, New York ; a daughter, Jessica Redeye; 4 sons, Justin Redeye, Coty Redeye, both of Jamestown, New York, William Redeye, Grand Junction, Colorado, Jesse (Annetra) Redeye, Fruita, Colorado; 6 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Dolores Redeye, Salamanca, New York, Susan Redeye Chapman.
He was predeceased by a brother, Jeffrey Redeye.
Friends may call on Friday at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, new York on Friday from 3-7 P.M.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday in the funeral home at 11 A.M. with Kevin John, of the Red House Chapel.
Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
Full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Chautauqua County Hospice or Roswell Park Cancer institute.
