Henry Calkins

Mr. Henry Calkins, age 54, of School Street, Salamanca, New York died Thursday morning, October 29, 2009 at his home.

Born on October 3, 1955 in Springville, New York he was the son of Fay Brown Calkins, Salamanca, New York and the late Wallace Calkins. He was married on May 10, 2002 to the former Doris Bartlett who survives.

Mr. Calkins was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1974-79.

He was employed at Parkview Supermarket .

Mr. Calkins enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.

Surviving besides his wife and mother are: 2 sons, Acie Calkins, Denver, Colorado, Sean Calkins ;2 daughters, Fern Calkins, Janette Calkins, both of School Street, Salamanca, New York; 2 stepsons, John Bartlett, Salamanca, New York, Tim Mohr, Salamanca, New York; 4 sisters, Kathy Yurik, Tennessee, Mary Lou (Joe) Mitchell, Buffalo, New York, Tammy (Atlee) Yoder, Hinsdale, New York, Ann Calkins, Franklinville, New York; 7 brothers, Ronald (Denise) Calkins, Ellicottville, New York, Donald (Denise) Calkins, Allegany, New York, Michael (Brenda) Calkins, Georgia, Robert (Amanda) Calkins, Salamanca, New York, Richard Calkins, Palmyra, New York, Randy Calkins, New Mexico, Thomas (Diane) Calkins, Steamburg, New York; several nieces and nephews.

Private family visitation and funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
